GUNUNG ANAK DARA LOMBOK 2024
Gunung Anak Dara is the second-highest peak in the Sembalun 7 Summit range, following Mount Rinjani summit at 3726m. Conquering Gunung Anak Dara is a requirement for those seeking the title of Sembalun 7 Summit finisher. Accessible via Sembalun village at 1200m above sea level, the trekking route is the same as the one leading to Mount Rinjani Volcano. The medium-level trek takes approximately 4 hours to ascend to the summit and 3.5 hours to descend to Sembalun village, offering exciting views along the way, covering a distance of 3 km from the starting point.
According to local stories from Sembalun, Gunung Anak Dara is named after the two beautiful daughters of Rinjani Prince who are believed to reside on the mountain, safeguarding it. “Anak” translates to “child,” and “Dara” translates to “ten-age daughter.” The local belief is that these two daughters play a role in securing the mountain, giving rise to the name Gunung Anak Dara.
